Ban on old computers
// March 3rd, 2010 // No Comments » // computers
Under a Meeting with LCCI and the President of Pakistan, a ban on used computers is requested.
This is probably for the new computer importer’s as they are having problem selling new computers, due to the used computers being so cheap in the market.
I have been a pro used computer person since i think 1989 when Computer Society President Shahzad Ali Rashid was president.
I was very young, and wrote many times to him to get the ban on the old computers off.
Finally ( by some miracle) the ban was lifted, and today Pakistan lead’s in the used computers pricing.
Not to mention that the industry has grown so much, that the Computer Market in Malaysia for used computers is also now lead by Pakistani Traders.
Under No Circumstances should the ban be imposed, as there is no way a common man can buy a new computer, but today a common man can buy a pentium 3 , with a monitor, good enough to watch a movie, learn basic language, and do basic stuff from it for a mere 3500 rupees.
and there is NO WAY a new computer trader can even come close to that price.
Computer penetration in Pakistan has far exceeded and far more then any of our same GDP Neighbor’s and the used computers are the only reason for it.
We should NOT let any one convince ANYONE to put this ban, and try to facilitate the used computer vendor as much as we can, so more and more computers are brought to this country and computer penetration is increased.
I for one give all my zakaat even for buying used computers, and the computers go to people who work in our factory and home workers, even if they use it for watching cartoon, they still need to learn how to use the computer before they can do that, and that is the first step towards learning how to use it.
I hope that others beside me will try to take a strong , very very strong stand on this one and again not let benfit of the few lead to loss of the most.

The Stars (Sitaron say Aagay Jehan Aur Bhi hain, Abhi Mohabbad Ki Imthian Aur Bhi hain)
// March 3rd, 2010 // No Comments » // Traveling
I am looking outside the aero plane, it is 40,000 ft above the land.
The night is at it’s extreme, all I see is the moon which is shinning fully, and the hundreds of bright start’s twinkling.
I think I see a few cluster of star’s also.
And then I think how far each of them is, so far that I can not even reach it in my life time, even if I was traveling at light speed.
Then I think of my self and the world I live in, so so small, so tiny, so irrelevant.
The Wedding

Her name is Katie Kirkpatrick, 21 yrs old. Next to her is her fiancé, Nick, 23.
This picture was taken prior to their wedding January 11th, 2005.
Katie has terminal cancer and spends hours in chemotherapy.
Here Nick awaits while she finishes one of the sessions…

Even in pain and dealing with her organs shutting down, with the help of morphine,
Katie took care of every single part of the wedding planning.
Her dress had to be adjusted several times due to Katie’s constant weight loss.

An expected guest was her oxygen tank. Katie had to use it during the ceremony and reception.
The other couple in this picture is Nick’s parents, very emotional with the wedding and to see their son marrying the girl he fell in love when he was an adolescent.

Katie, in a wheel chair listening to her husband and friends singing to her.

In the middle of the party, Katie had to rest for a bit and catch her breath.
The pain does not allow her to stand for long period of time.

Katie died 5 days after her wedding. To see a fragile woman dress as bride with a beautiful smile makes you think… happiness is always there within reach, no matter how long it lasts…..
lets enjoy life and don’t live a complicated life. Life is too short.
Work as if it was your first day.
Forgive as soon as possible.
Love without boundaries..
Laugh without control
and never stop smiling.
Please pray for those suffering from cancer.
We all have close to our heart.
Keep this going.
Prayers are always answered.

Zong Introduces `Chine-Ease´ One SIM Two Numbers
// February 6th, 2010 // No Comments » // zong
Zong has introduced `Chine-Ease´ one SIM two numbers, an additional service for ZONG
postpaid subscribers.
Chine-Ease is a service through which subscribers using international roaming services will
be given roaming facilities in China at the cheapest rates.
`Chine-Ease´ subscribers will be given a `China Mobile´ number, mapped with their ZONG
number; enabling them to have two numbers on one SIM. Thus, the China Mobile number
will serve as the calling number, when the subscriber is in China. The ZONG number will
serve as the calling number when the subscriber is in Pakistan or in any other country.
The calling number is switched automatically, according to the registered network and
location while incoming calls can be received on both numbers. This service will allow
subscribers to avail the cheapest rates on roaming while in China and at the same time have
the convenience of carrying their regular ZONG SIM.
Awais Malik, Director Segment, Products & International Business, ZONG, while expressing
his views said that the new service would particularly benefit people who travel frequently to
China and do not want the inconvenience of purchasing local SIMs for making calls .
“Giving our subscribers the best possible rates and a wide range of services is the hallmark
of ZONG philosophy. Chine-Ease will help ZONG´s subscribers to stay in touch with their key
contacts while traveling in China at much more affordable rates,” says Awais Malik.
ZONG has again produced a highly innovative and affordable service for its subscribers. The
Chine-Ease tariff is very cost effective, it is even less than half of China roaming tariff being
offered by other operators in Pakistan. Moreover, as the calling number is switched
automatically there is no inconvenience to the subscriber.
During initial phase the Chine-Ease service has been offered in Beijing, Guangdong,
Zhejiang and Xinjiang provinces with plans to expand the service to other parts of China.

He said that it will effect the entire air structure of earth if we compress too much air.
